Ɗan Iyan Bauchi wants traditional leaders to include more women in their councils.

Traditional and Community Leaders in Bauchi state have been advised to involve Women in their activities to ensure equity, inclusivity and adequate representation for the development of the state.

The Ward Head of Ɗan Iya Malam Sulaiman Bashir gave the advice while receiving a delegation on a thank you visit for the conferment of a traditional title of Jakadiyar Yamma on rhe State Manager International Alert Jennifer Dashe in Bauchi.

Malam Sulaiman Bashir who is the Ɗan Iayn Bauchi said who play very important role on the peace and security as well as family setting of any society, hence the need to involve them in all aspects of decision making.

He noted that the title of Jakadiyar Yamma was conferred on Miss Dashe in recognition of her effort towards tge empowerment and championing the cause of women in the state through various programs.

According to the Ɗan Iyan Bauchi, out of 25 Hamlet Heads under his domain, seven have included women in their councils.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the celebrants Grandmother and Elder Brother Malama Hauwa’u Musa and Ibrahim Musa respectively expressed gratitude to the Ward Head for the honor done them, and promised more in service to the people.

Others on the entourage were executives and members of Women Mediators Network, HeforShe, UN Women Peace and Security State Implementation Committee among others.
