Members of the Central Planning Committee for the 15th Northeast Joint Trade Fair in Bauchi State have commenced preparation for the successful hosting of the event.
The decision to conduct the Trade Fair in Bauchi State was part of resolutions of the recent Northeast Governors Forum Meeting held in Maiduguri in an effort to improve commercial and business activities within the subregion which is affected by activities of insurgents.
Addressing Journalists after the committee’s meeting at Government House Bauchi, Chairman of the Committee and Secretary the state government Barrister Ibrahim Kashim said subcommittees have also been constituted with a view to mobilize people for local participation.
Barrister Ibrahim Kashim who said the Trade Fair is to commence from 21st to 31st of January 2024 at Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida IBB Square assured of adequate security and logistics towards the success of the event.
Also Speaking the State Commissioner Ministry of Commerce and Industry Alh Mahmud Baba Ma’aji who called on the Bauchi based traders and business operators to take advantage of the opportunity commended Governor Bala for his commitment to the economic development of the state.
Mahmud Baba Ma’aji who stressed the importance of the trade fair maintained that the state can only succeeded in diversifying its economy through encouraging small and medium businesses and Public Private Partnership PPP.
The meeting has in attendance Commissioners of Commerce from six Northeastern States, Members of House Committee on Commerce, trader and investment as well was Directors General Northeast Chambers of Commerce.
