Rochas Foundation to introduce Tsangaya education into its programs in six northern states.

Rochas Foundation is to  introduce Tsangaya system into its programme towards complimenting government effort in the integration of Almijiris into modern education.

The Chief of Staff to Senator Rochas Okorocha and Former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State Abdulmalik Mahmud stated this while receiving the Leader of Tijjaniyya Sect in Africa Khalifa Sheikh Muhammadul Mahee at the foundation’s college in Bauchi.

Abdulmalik Mahmud said the Almijiri’s  are special set of students in the society who should be treated better hence the need for government, philanthropists and well meaning individuals to invest in the development of tsangaya system of education for them to have a sense of belonging.

Earlier, the Leader of Tijjaniyya Sect in Africa Khalifa Sheikh Muhammadul Mahee who expressed strong support towards the development and integration of Western Education into Tsangaya system, said such move would not only bring about positive change, but ensure unity, peace and educational development of the society.

While appreciating the effort of the Proprietor of the Foundation for being detribalised and a unifying factor, the Sheikh also commended the relationship between teachers and students of the college.

In a remark, the Principal of the College Sarah Johnson Mafai said the school which was established in 2017 with 155 students, now has 461 less privileged and ophaned children with the plan of taking in more.

Also Speaking, ths Representative of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, Sheikh Ibrahim Dahiru who thanked Rochas Foundation for identifying with the less privileged, promised continues support to all programmes and initiatives of the foundation.

Highlights of the Occasion were recitation of the Qur’an, Hadith and Seerah by some students as well as presentation of gifts to the Leader of the Tijjaniyya Sect in Africa among others
