29 MAY : Governor Bala Mohammed Interacts with Ophans and Vulnerables.

As part of the activities marking his administration’s two years anniversary, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi has interacted with Orphans and Vulnerable Children OVC with a view to provide them with psychosocial support.
Speaking at the occasion, Governor Bala Mohammed said he decided to celebrate the important day with orphans and vulnerable groups to shown them a sense of belonging
Bala Mohammed said government has the responsibility of ensuring proper upbringing of Orphans and Vulnerable groups in the society through encouraging their active participation in all policies and programmes.
He noted that the account of the State Agency for Orphans and Vulnerable Children BASOVCA will be reopen to attract contributions from Government, Nongovernmental Organizations and Corporate Bodies.
In their remarks, Chairperson of the BASOVCA Mrs Hasana Arkila and the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development Hajiya Hajara Gidado who commended the Governor for his concern to the Orphans called on others to emulate.
According to them the initiative would motivate the orphans to feel honored and encourage their productivity.
