3 SUSPECTS INCLUDING A MILITARY PERSONNEL ARRESTED FOR ARMED ROBBERY IN YOBE STATE.

The Yobe state command of the Nigeria Police Force says it has arrested three suspects including a military personnel for house breaking and armed robbery in Damaturu the Yobe state capital.

This is contained in a statement signed by the commands Public Relations Officer ASP Dungus Abdulkarim.
The suspect according to the statement include
Hassan Abdulhafiz aged 22 years, a military personnel attached to Nigeria Army Sector 2 Headquarters, Operation HadinKai,
Mustapha Abubakar aged 19 years, of Nayi-Nawa ward and
Samaila Salmanu aged 25Years of Sabon-Pegi ward all in Damaturu.

The statement says the suspects invaded the resident of one Haj. Aisha Usman of Sabon-Pegi-ward with deadly weapons including an AK 47 rifle and succeeded in inflicting serious injuries on the victim and her son, Ahmed Umar aged 17 years after tying them up with DSTV cable wire.

The culprits carted away with the following items at gunpoint:

i) Two hundred and fifty thousand Naira (N250,000:00) cash.

ii) 307 Peugeot Saloon Car, black in colour, with registration No. NSR 672 DD

iii) GSM handset (Nokia)

Two of the suspects were arrested in Damaturu and the third suspect in Darazo, Bauchi state while in possession of the robbed car.

The following implements were used to commit the crime and the robbed items were recovered from the suspects. :

According to the statement, the items recovered include 307 Peugeot car with Reg. No. NSR 672 DD, Seventy-six thousand Naira (N76,000:00) leftover of the money robbed and Nokia handset

It added that the three (3)) suspects have since confessed to the crime and will be prosecuted after the investigation.
