3,000 Bauchi Federal Constituents To Benefit From Economic Empowerment Programmes

One hundred and fifty youth and women from Bauchi Federal Constituency, have benefitted from seven point five million naira grants for fish farming empowerment programme, facilitated by the member representing the Constituency in the House of Representatives, Alhaj Yakubu Shehu Abdullahi.

The beneficiaries were given N50,000 each as start-up grants for them to be self-reliant given the current economic realities in the country.

Addressing the beneficiaries at the closing of a training, held in Bauchi, the lawmaker Alhaji Yakubu Shehu Abdullahi charged them to judiciously utilize the disbused funds to improve their economic status.

He announced that the beneficiaries were the first set of about three thousand selected constituents that are expected to undergo different trades with various interventions aimed at making them to self-reliant.

The lawmaker who assured similar opportunities to be provided for the constituents called on them to pray for leaders at all levels to enable them execute more developmental projects.

In an interview, the Lead Facilitator at the training and Senior Lecturer with the Federal College of Fishery and Marine Technology Lagos, Mr. Attahiru Shehu described the level of assimilation of the beneficiaries as high and commended them for their patience and enthusiasm through out the period of the exercise.

Some of the empowered constituents who spoke to Radio Nigeria expressed gratitude to the member representing Bauchi Federal Constituency Yakubu Shehu Abdullahi and pledged to put into practice what they have learned as well as utilize the money given them judiciously.
