KAROTA Intercepts Truck Loaded with 4,600 Bottles of Alcoholic Drinks

The Kano Road and Traffic Agency, KAROTA, has intercepted a truck conveying 4,600 bottles of alcoholic drinks,into the state.

The Public Relations Officer of the Agency, Nabilusi Abubakar made the disclosure to news men in Kano.

According to him, the truck with registration number FGG 407 XB was apprehended along Ibrahim Taiwo road by personnel of the agency.

He stressed that,the intoxicants were concealed in the truck, under fire wood.

The public relations officer pointed out that,immediately the driver sighted KAROTA officials he parked the truck and ran away.

Nabulisi highlighted that,the truck would be handed over to Kano state hisbah board, as investigation has commenced to unravel the identity of the owner of the assorted beer.

He explained that,smugglers have devised new methods of transporting drugs and other harmful substances into the state,saying that the agency would not relent in it’s efforts of sanitizing Kano free of all forms of vices.

The public relations officer urged the public to contribute their quota by supporting the agency and reporting any suspected person or character to relevant authorities.
