Journalists from Five States to be train on Audit Reporting Says FrontFoot Media Initiatives.

About Fourty Journalists selected from five states of Adamawa, Bauchi, Gombe Taraba and Plateau are to undergo training on Audit Reporting to improved openness and accountability in governance.

The Training Coordinator FrontFoot Media Initiatives Chindo Nwakanma made this known in a press Release made available to Globe FM Bauchi.

The Statement explains that the training would hold under the auspices of the Wole Soyinka Center for Investigative Journalism Sponsored by the MacArthur Foundation.

The Statement said, the Director FrontFoot Media Mr Emeka Izeze highlighted that the Programme will draw participants from Gombe, Bauchi, Adamawa, Taraba and Plateau which demonstrate the Inclusivity and reach of the FrontFoot Media.

“We look forward to training about 40 media personnel who play a crucial role in our media landscape”

According to the Statement, the Gombe State Governor is expected to address participants in line with an agenda of openness and accountability.

The Statement noted that, former President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria who is also the Internal Auditor of Premium Pension Abuja and an ICAN Fellow will present a paper during the workshop.

The Statement emphasis that the FrontFoot Media has conducted similar training in Benin, Awka, Abuja and Lagos, saying the Gombe workshop is the Fifth of it’s kind.

“As a flagship capacity development programme of FrontFoot Media Initiatives it’s a collaborative media engagement for development inclusivity and accountability project.

Participants learned how to locate the relevant report, interpret the material and write engaging news stories and features that enlighten, stimulate and empower the electorate and discouraged impunity “
