The Chairman Caretaker Committee University of Maiduguri Alumni Association, Dr Mohammed Bulama has reiterated to reposition the University of Maiduguri Alumni Association.

Dr Mohammed Bulama who is also double as Director General (DG) Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) made this known when he led other Members of the Committee on a courtesy visit to the Acting Vice Chancellor University of Maiduguri Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele.

The Chairman Caretaker Committee University of Maiduguri Alumni said he would mobilize new Members to the Association and nominate three (3) Member Caretaker Committee in all the 36 States of Federation and Federal Capital as well as Sub branches in local government areas where Alumni are vibrant.

The Director General FRCN added that the will reach out to the Graduates of the University of Maiduguri in Diaspora especially Europe and America to formed University of Maiduguri Alumni in Diaspora.

He explained that the essence of most Alumni Association is to support its Alma Mater which he would ensure to make positive thoughts impacts on the Institution and conduct a credible elections to handover the affairs to the new Executive Members.

Dr Mohammed Bulama informed the Acting Vice Chancellor University of Maiduguri on the 50th anniversary celebration of the University schedule to hold next year, which he said soon the Caretaker Committee shall meet him to deliberate as parts of plan to have successfull Golden Jubilee Celebration.

The DG noted that Radio Nigeria will partner with University of Maiduguri on the improved content for broadcast using ICT to inform and educate audience in every sphere and assure to support the University of Maiduguri to achieve its mandates.

The Acting Vice Chancellor University of Maiduguri Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele commended Dr Mohammed Bulama for the visit and assure to support the Alumni Association for the betterment of the University.

The Acting Vice Chancellor enjoined the Caretaker Committee Members to come up with an online Platform where Members could get registered especially the new graduants, those in Diaspora as well as others that were unaware.

The DG Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria visited Unimaid Radio where he was taking round by the Director Unimaid Radio, Professor Danjuma Gambo and participated on live programme on how best the Radio offers to the host community and partnership between Radio Nigeria and the Unimaid Radio.
