Gombe AGILE Project Engage Female Students to Celebrate Girl Child Day.

The Gombe State Adolescent Girls’ Initiative and Empowerment, AGILE Project has engaged female Students from various schools across the state to celebrate international day of the Girl Child.

Speaking at the event, The project Coordinator Dr Amina Haruna Abdull pointed out that AGILE is working to ensure enrollment, retention and completion of girls education.

She said AGILE will do all they can to secure the future of female children from the adverse factors that threaten to erode them.

Also Speaking, the State Commissioner for Education, Proffesor Aishatu Maigari
said, Gombe State government will ensure that every child in the state regardless of gender or geographic location receives quality education.

Professor Aishatu Maigari also charged the girl Child in the state to be dedicated to their studies so as to excell.

Presenting a paper on Gender Based Violence, Hajiya Zariyatu Abubakar Hashidu of Wildan Care Foundation called on relevant Authorities to ensure that education is made compulsory and that the Child Rights Act is fully adopted and implemented across all the states of the country.

The International theme of the Girl child day, is ‘Girls’ vision for the future’.
