Immunisation Plus and Malaria Progress by Accelerating Coverage and Transforming Services (IMPACT) project has commended the Bauchi State government for its commitment to the initiative’s goals of improving maternal and child health across Nigeria.
The National Programme Manager, Dr Amina Abdu One Muhammed, made the commendation in an exclusive interview with Radio Nigeria in Badara during an inspection visit to one of the six revitalised Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in Kirfi Local Government Area.

Dr Amina Muhammed noted that the IMPACT project, a World Bank-assisted initiative, was designed to enhance healthcare service efficiency.
She revealed that 180 million dollars had been earmarked for drug procurement to support the 30 benefiting states across the country.
“This was to ensure the potency and availability of essential drugs, the presence of healthcare workers, and the provision of emergency transport services, for which about five million dollars has been earmarked,” she stated.
The National Programme Manager affirmed that the work done on the revitalised PHCs met the project’s contractual requirements.
She encouraged women to take advantage of the healthcare services available for their benefit and that of their babies.
Dr Amina Muhammed also commended Governor Bala Mohammed and the State Primary Health Care Board for their dedication to improving healthcare services for women and children.
Our correspondent reports that the IMPACT project in Bauchi State recently signed contracts worth over four million US dollars for the revitalisation of 118 Primary Health Care facilities across the state. The initiative was officially launched by Governor Bala Mohammed in Kirfi Local Government Area.
