Former President, Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Kashim Shettima, about fifteen Governors, National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribado are among personalities that attended the wedding ceremony of the eldest son of Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum.
The wedding Fatiha took place at Maiduguri Central Mosque around Shehu of Borno’s Palace.
The former President served as representative of the groom while Vice President Kashin Shettima stood on behalf of the bride’s family upon the payment of twelve gold coins as dowry.
The wedding Fatiha was officiated by the Chief Imam of Borno, Imam Laisu Ibrahim Ahmed after performing the prescribed religious rites where the former President Buhari asked for the bride’s hand in marriage Kaltum Abubakar Kolo on behalf of Mohammed Babagana Zulum, thereafter handed the dowry to representative of the bride.
The Chief Imam then prayed for the couple and for peace to reign in the state and the country.
At a reception after the wedding Fatiha, Governor of Lagos state Babajide Sanwolo who spoke on behalf of the Governors urged the couple to be patient and respect one another, describing the father of the groom Governor Babagana Zulum as a humble and discipline person.
The wedding was attended by Governors of Kwara, Gombe, Yobe, Nasarawa, Ogun, Niger, Adamawa, Bauchi, Abia, Lagos, Kebbi and Katsina States.
Others are Speaker House of Representative Honourable Tajuddeen Abbas, Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin, National Security Adviser Malam Nuhu Ribadu, former Governors of Borno, Maina Ma’aji Lawan and Ali Modu Sheriff, former Governors of Kano, Jigawa, Kebbi Kaduna and Zamfara States Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, Atiku Bagudu, Nasir El-Rufai and Bello Matawalle, former Senate President, Ahmed Lawan.
Also at the wedding include, immediate past Inspector General of Police Usman Baba Alkali, Group Chief Executive Officer NNPCL, Mele Kyari Kolo, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi, national and state assembly members, traditional rulers from within and outside Borno State amongst other dignitaries.
