Yobe state Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON, said his administration would continue supporting security agencies in the state to sustain the victory against insecurity in the state.

Governor Buni stated this in Damaturu when Maj. Gen. MLD Saraso, Commander, Sector 2 Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai, and Adamu Zakari, State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp, paid him courtesy visit.

In a statement released by his Director General Press and Media Affairs Mamman Mohammed, Governor Buni said the working synergy between security organisations in collaboration with civil communities in the state made the fight against terrorism a great success.

He said Yobe state is now very peaceful “Former President Muhammadu Buhari, visited Yobe state and passed a night in Damaturu last January without any additional or extra measures taken for his security.

“There were no road blocks, nor no stop and check operations throughout the period of his stay in Damaturu.

“Today markets across the state are all open with economic activities increasingly growing.

“Similarly, elections were conducted in communities that could not hold elections in 2019, these are all indicating variables that peace has returned to Yobe state,” the Governor said.

Buni commended President Bola Tinubu, for taking early measures to adequately tackle insecurity in all parts of the country.

The Governor reassured security operatives in the state of continued support to succeed in fighting all forms of crime across the state.

The security officers in their separate submissions assured the governor of putting in their best to make Yobe state, Nigeria’s safest state.
