A group in Bauchi State laments over planned fuel subsidy removal.

Bauchi State Togetherness and Development Forum, has solicited the Federal Government to disregard the earlier planned removal of fuel subsidy considering the plight of the common man and the security situation ravaging the country.
Chairman of the Forum Comrade Abdullahi Koli made the plea during a courtesy visit to the Director National Orientation Agency NOA Bauchi, Alhaji Nuru Yusuf Kobi in his Office.
Comrade Abdullahi Koli said the aim of the visit was to submit a letter containing issues of national concerns to the Director NOA Bauchi for onward submission to President Muhammadu Buhari for consideration.
He explained that removal of the fuel subsidy has negative effects on the common man, hence the need for the federal government to reconsider its position for the betterment of the citizenry.
The Chairman of the Forum appreciated efforts of security personnel across the country for their giant strides in tackling insecurity and urged them to sustain the tempo.
Responding, the Director National Orientation Agency NOA Bauchi Alhaji Nuru Yusuf Kobi who appreciated them for the move, sensitized them on the need for the government to remove the subsidy, assured them his readiness to channel the letter to the Presidency.
Alhaji Nuru Kobi called on Non-governmental and Civil Society Organizations to continue to enlighten the public on the importance of subsidy removal on the common man and the economy in general.
He described security as a collective responsibility and called on all and sundry to assist in providing useful information to security agents to contain the situation.
The NOA Director further used the forum to call on parents to be watchful of their children’s movement so as not to engage in drug abuse and other forms of social vices.
