An academic advocates new educational policy in the country.

A University Lecturer Professor Simon Yalamms has advocated a new educational policy that would help create job opportunities and potential entrepreneurs.

Professor Simon Yalams who lectures at ATBU Bauchi was speaking at the joint fiftieth and fourtieth anniversary public lecture of Garu Old Boys Association sets of 1970 and 1980 in Bauchi.

In a paper titled Revitalising the Nigeria Education System in a Digital Era, Professor Yalams said Nigeria can only maintain the status of giant of africa, by reviewing its educational system in the areas of curriculum, teacher centered approach, content coverage, and provision of e-learning facilities.

He advised the younger generation to imbibe the culture of reading to become intellectually sound.

According to Professor Yalams, teachers must strive to overcome the challenges of the twenty first century by becoming technology savvy.
