Application of ICT Will Address Insecurity- NCS.

The Nigeria Computer Society NCS has advocated the application of Information and Communication Technology ICT in addressing the incessant security challenges across the country.

It has also advised government at all levels to prioritize the use of the ICT towards transforming the country’s economy.

The National President of the society Professor Adensina Sodiya gave the indication at the inauguration of Bauchi State Chapter of the NCS.

Prof. Adensina argued that the present security challenges including kidnapping, banditry and insurgency can only be overcome through the combine application of cyber security and deployment of troops to the trouble areas.

The National President charged the state’s new executive to use their wealth of experience to impact positively on the Development of the profession and the society at large.

In his address, the State Governor Bala Mohammed who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government Barrister Ibrahim Kashim said the state has engaged civil servants on digital and ICT literacy training to enhance their productivity

Bala Mohammed assured that the State government will support the initiative of the society and other technology driven institutions to for rapid socioeconomic development of the state.

Speaking on behalf of the new executive, the Chairman of the State Chapter Dr. Muhammad Aliyu who promised to live up to their responsibilities, called for the support of all the members to achieve the desired objectives.

The new executive include Dr. Muhammad Aliyu Chairman, Babayo Munkaila Deputy Chairman, Abba Muhammad Yayaji Secretary and Dr. Iliya Musa Adamu as Financial Secretary.

Others are Khadeejat Aliyu Yahaya Treasurer, Adamu Muhammad Tukur Organizing Secretary, Abubakar Umar Publicity Secretary as well as Dahiru Dalhatu Gital as Auditor.
