Prior to the release of the bulky list of political appointees who would serve as Board Chairmen and Members in various ministries, Departments and Agencies, citizens especially those who contributed to the emergence of Governor Bala Muhammad’s led administration are clamoring for appointments to enable them maximize the benefit of their contributions during electioneering campaign.

It could be recall that on several occasions, Governor Bala had repeatedly appealed to those cartigory of people to exercise patience as his administration required a little time to consolidate on the peoples oriented projects embarked upon with a view to build the citizens’ confidence in the administration before rewarding the indefatigable efforts of political associates.

On 9th November twenty twenty, His Excellency the Executive Governor for Bauchi state, Bala Muhammad has approved the reconstitution of the Boards for 59 Agencies and parastatals in the state as part of the mandates vested on him by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The Boards will be inaugurated on Tuesday, 17th November, 2020 before the official swing into action and subsequent enjoyment of the remuneration attached to the respective offices. The appointment which shortlisted about five hundred people, considered the three Senatorial zones across the state to ensure all inclusive government.

Interestingly, technocrats and seasoned Civil servants were included especially in sensitive areas toward effective service delivery.

Before the reconstitution of the Boards, several political appointments were made such as Commissioners, Special Advisers (SA), Senior Special Assistants (SSA), Special Assistants (SA) among other members of the state executive council. Governor Bala Muhammad was among the Governors that Constituted members of executive council few months after taking the oath of office. This is in addition to the 10 pending Special Advisers earlier approved by the State House of Assembly following the request by Governor Bala Muhammad on the need for them.

The move would also ends the assertions that, the entire first term of Kauran Bauchi led administration would be restricted to roads construction, potable water expansion project, construction and rehabilitation of primary and secondary schools, heathcare centres as well as empowerment programmes.

With this development, there is no doubt that Bala Muhammad would take the led among Governors that championed the course of provision of physical infrastructure and human capital development simultaneously. This is because, the most tasky government is the one that doubles in achieving the both.

Since the Third Republic, Bauchi state has witnessing Governors with different forms of leadership style who paid attention to specific areas of interest. For instance, former Governor Ahmad Adamu Mu’azu embarked on massive roads project throughout of his two term tenure, the administration of Malam Isa Yuguda paid attention to human capital development while Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar exhausted his four years of non specific area of emphasis.

There are so many unanswered questions on how and where Governor Bala Muhammad is sourcing funds for execution of such laudable initiatives that have direct impacts on the lives of people. Multi-billion naira projects are being initiated with most of them completed at the time the country and whole world are being faced with serious economic challenges due to the outbreak of the ravaging coronavirus.

Just recently, the Governor assented the 2020 supplimentary budget of over 42 billion naira after the approval of the State House of Assembly. This is out of his aspirations to open up the state with more roads in all the towns and villages across the three Senatorial zones. Bauchi is the only state in the country that proposed supplimentary budget as most of the states are struggling on how implement the main budget before for presentation of the 2021 budget estimate.

Only God knows how the lives of Bauchi citizens would be transform by the time His Excellency Governor Bala Muhammad successfully finished his two term in office as the Executive Governor of Bauchi State.
