Association Wants FG To Lift Taxes on Diabetes Drugs.

The National body of Diabetes Association of Nigeria (DAN) has called on the Federal Government to lift the tax imposed on Diabetes commodities to ease the sufferings of people living with the disease.
President of the Association Dr. Mohammed Alkali who made the call at the inauguration of the Bauchi State Chapter’s Board of Trustee (BoT) held at Misau Emirate Council of the state.
He said the tax when lifted would reduce the high price of the drugs which was the major challenge being experienced by Diabetics.
In an acceptance remark, the Chairman Board of Trustee, and Emir of Misau, Alhaji Ahmed Sulaiman expressed commitment to deliver and assured to come up with new ways as well as relevant information that would guarantee the life of diabetics.
On his part, the Chief Medical Director Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, ATBUTH, also member of the BoT, Dr. Yusuf Jibril assured to sustain the existing cordial relationship between people living with Diabetes and the hospital.
Earlier Speaking, the Chairperson Bauchi State Chapter of the Association, Hajiya Uwa Abdullahi appreciated all stakeholders for their unflinching support towards the success of the Association.
