ATBUTH Launches e-Health Solutions Mobile App

Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, ATBUTH Bauchi has launched an e-Health Solutions mobile App that provides easy access to healthcare, prevent overcrowding at registration desk of the hospital.

In an address of welcome, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Professor Jibril Yusuf said the e-Health Solutions was a platform to track results and notification in good time, simplify appointment schedule, utilise internet banking with improve payment system.

Professor Jibril who noted that the platform would enhance Electronic Medical Record, commended the Federal Ministry of Health and Nigeria Communication Commission, NCC for supporting the project.

The Vice Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Communications Commission, NCC Professor Umar Danbatta said the e-Health Solutions was an innovative technology that would revolutionize the provision of medical care to patients, thereby making the process faster, more efficient and accurate.

Professor Danbatta who was represented by the NCC’s Commissioner, Aliyu Sa’idu Abubakar informed that the Commission had provided grants to some e-Health Hubs aimed at deploying Smart Clinic solutions to facilitate appointments and payments to reduce queues in hospitals.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Health, Mahmuda Mamman represented by Director Teaching Hospital of the ministry Dr Andrew Noah said the need for inclusion of technologies in the health sector has many advantages and is incontrovertible.

He explained that the e-Health was required to enable meeting up with the increasing demand of health service delivery and it is in line with the Executive Order One of Ease of doing business drive of the federal government.

The Chief Medical Director, Federal Teaching Hospital Modibbo Adama University of Technology Yola, Professor Auwalu Abubakar expressed appreciation that ATBUTH was selected as one of the six hospitals across the country to pilot the e-Health initiative.

The Chairman League of Friends of the hospital and District Head of Bauchi, Alhaji Nuru Adamu Jumba pledged to sensitise people to understand and embrace the new innovation for easy access to healthcare services in the hospital.
