Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State says the welfare of students and provision of quality education are part of the priority areas of his administration.
To this end, he ordered for uninterrupted payment of scholarship and upsetting the backlog of students’ bursaries.
Bala Mohammed made the commitment while receiving the newly elected officials and members of National Union of Bauchi State Students in Government House Bauchi.
The Governor said to actualize the commitment, the state ministry of education is directed to work in synergy with scholarship management board to produce credible number of indegenous students studying in various institutions across the country before disbursement of the allowance.
While congratulating them for the peaceful conduct of their election, Bala Mohammed, warned them against taking part in any form of unlawful activities to guarantee their future.
Earlier the National President of the Union Comrade Mahmud Abubakar said they were in the Government House to introduce themselves as the new executive that will run affairs of the union for the next one year.
He encouraged the Governor to sustain his effort of repositioning the education sector for the students to acquire quality education.
