Basic Education: Philanthropist renovates nine classrooms, provides 289 students desks in Bauchi.

School Managers in Bauchi State have appealed to Government to ensure adequate security in all its primary schools towards protecting facilities provided from vandalism.

One of them and Principal Government Junior Secondary School Games Village Malam Aminu Rabiu made the appeal at the handing over of three blocks of nine classrooms renovated by a philanthropist at the school in Bauchi metropolis.

Malam Aminu Rabiu said their watchman retired some years back, forcing the school authority to hire two guards a situation they described as inadequate considering the amount of facilities provided.

He disclosed that the philanthropist who requested anonimity furnished the nine classrooms with 289 twin students desks and repaired the school borehole.

Responding, the Executive Chairman State Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB Dr Abubakar Surunbai Sheikh Dahiru said the gesture is part of the present administration’s desire to see individuals and organisations contributing towards the develop of the state.

Dr Surunbai Sheikh Dahiru who expressed gratitude to the philanthropist for embarking on the gigantic project, restated government’s commitment towards uplifting the standard of education in the state.

While calling on people to support government policies and programmes, Surunbai promised to look into the issue of providing security to schools especially those without perimeter fence.

The Executive Chairman also visited some schools at the outskirt of the state capital to include Gubi primary school where reconstruction work is being done as directed by Governor Bala Muhammad.
