Bauchi Assembly Speaker Advocates Full Implementation of State Legislative Financial Autonomy.

The newly elected Chairman Conference of States Legislative speakers of Nigeria Abubakar Sulaiman says he will ensure full implementation of the financial autonomy to states legislature in line with section 121 sub section 3 the Nigerian Constitution as amended.

 Abubakar Suleiman gave the assurance while answering questions from newsmen in his office on his recent emergence as the newly elected Chairman Conference of State Legislative Speakers of Nigeria.

The Chairman who is also the Speaker Bauchi State House of Assembly noted that granting the executive order 10 will deepen democracy and strengthen the legislative arm to deliver its mandate without relying on the executive arm.

He vowed to ensure that all State House of Assemblies become fully digitalized to keep up with their votes and proceedings in line with international best practice.

On the VAPP Law, the speaker pledged to have all the state legislatures enact laws to prohibit violence against persons as well as to use their constitutional power to ensure security agencies operates within the confines of the ladw towards protecting the right of every citizen.

Abubakar Suleiman explained that he would not relent towards discharging his constitutional duties as a member Ningi Central Constituency and speaker Bauchi State House of Assembly.

He used the opportunity to thank his colleagues in all the thirty six states of the federation for the confidence reposed on him and for the great responsibility entrusted upon him.
