Bauchi Auditors Undergoing Training On Performance Audit

USAID funded State Accountability Transparency and Effectiveness (State2State) Activity has commenced a three-day training on Internal Audit and Performance for the Bauchi State and Local Government Auditors.

The Objective of the training is primarily aimed at acquainting the participants with the requisite knowledge and needed requirements of conducting Performance Audit.

The Public Financial Management (PFM) Specialist of USAID State2State Activity, Mr Isaac Otabor said another objective was to enhance the capacity of the trainees on Auditing with special focus on effectiveness, efficiency and economy as well as ethics and equity.

Mr Otabor also said at the end of the training an improvement need to be seen in the work of the Auditors who were selected from the State and Local Government Audits as well as the state office of Bureau Of Public Procurement (BPP).

In an opening remark, the State Team Lead State2State Activity, Bauchi Field Office, Mrs Rabi Ekele urged the participants to be attentive and make fruitful contributions throughout the sessions.

Mrs Ekele who expressed optimism that the training would help the participants improve their work in tandem the global standards appreciated them for finding time to attend the engagement.

The State Acting Auditor-General Munkaila Yakubu Abubakar said the training was apt considering the fact that Performance Audit is a global issues in the field of Auditing, adding that it would go a long way in changing the narrative.

The State Chairman BPP, Mr Joshua Titus Sanga emphasized the need for participants to after every training cascade it to their subordinates and file a comprehensive report of same in their respective offices for other to learn.
