Bauchi Communal Clash: Victims Receive Relief Materials

Bauchi State Government has distributed Relief Materials to victims of the recent civil unrest in Gudum Sayawa and Gudum Hausawa Communities in Bauchi Local Government Area.

Three people were said to have been killed and over twenty houses destroyed as a result of the crisis.

Items distributed include three hundred bags of cement, One hundred and fifty boundless of Zinc and two hundred cartons of Nail.

Others are three hundred bags of rices, three hundred bags of maize and two hundred blankets.

Distributing the materials, the overseeing Director General Of the State Emergency Management Agency SEMA Bala Yakubu Lame said the State Governor Bala Mohammed gave the directive after assessing the level of damage caused by the incident.

According to him, the effort was to assist the victims with basic needs with a view to ameliorating their suffering.

Speaking on behalf of the victims, the Ward Head of Gudum Hausawa Malam Umar Tukur and Pastor bitrus Na Bagu from Gudum Sayawa who described the incident as uncalled for, enjoined the two communities to promote peace and unity to guarantee peaceful coexistence in the area.

They therefore commended the state government for coming to the aid of the affected persons.
