Bauchi First Lady Launches 2021 Second Round of MNCHW.

Bauchi State Government has launched this years second round of Maternal Newborn and Child Health Week, MNCHW, with a call on women to utilize the opportunity provided towards improving their healthcare.
Speaking at the commencement of the exercise at Primary Health Centre, State Low Cost in Bauchi metropolis, the State First Lady Hajiya A’isha Bala Mohammed said the importance of the week cannot be overemphasised considering the interventions provided.
Hajiya A’isha Bala Mohammed urged women to make themselves and their children available for the interventions provided towards improving their health status.
The Executive Chairman of the State Primary Health Care Development Agency Dr. Rilwanu Mohammed said the interventions include Folic acid, routine immunisation, nutrition, micronutrient powder, Vitamin A supplement, de-worming tablets Zinc/ORS among others.
Also speaking the State Commissioner of Health Dr. Sama’ila Dahuwa said there was an improvement in the state health Budget from twelve to seventeen percent and the release of funds had also been improved to forty five percent as against the previous years.
In separate remarks, representatives of World Health Organisation, USAID funded Integrated Health Program, IHP and Breakthrough Action Nigeria as well as other partners assured continued support towards improving Maternal and Child Health in the state.
