Bauchi Rotary Club Installs Charter President, Inducted New Members.

A non-profit organization, Rotary Club of Bauchi Central has inaugurated its Pioneer/Charter President to run the affairs of the club for the period of one year.

The club has also conducted fundraising and induction of new members who were charged to sustain the humanitarian contributions they have been rendering for the benefit of the vulnerable in the society.

While speaking to journalists on the activities of the Club, the Charter President, Rotarian Nwobi Nonso said it has been helpful in the area of healthcare, such as immunisation, medical outreaches, renovation of facilities among others.

Rotarian Nonso explained that contrary to misconception from some quarters, the club was purely a philanthropic one with source of funding from members’ donation and other good spirited individuals and groups who share similar views of service to humanity.

He said the club was facing membership challenge in the state and urged more professionals to register with it to intensify

The Assistant Governor, Rotary Club of Naraguta, Jos Plateau state, Mrs Tongnaan Dada Bawa said the club also offered scholarship to vulnerable children in the society and construct as well as renovates public toilets.

Mrs Tongnaan Bawa who argued that the interventions were part of the club’s contribution towards providing good health and education added that the funds were usually from personal contributions of members.
