Bauchi, Sokoto Gets Multi-million Canadian Dollar Project.

Bauchi and Sokoto states are to benefit from a five-year Multi-million Canadian dollar ASPIRE Project, to be implemented by Plan International Nigeria, with support from Global Affairs Canada.

Head of Social Development Sector, Plan International, Mr. Laban Onismus, made this known to journalists in Bauchi.

Mr. Laban Onismus said implementation of the Project will commence in February 2022 in the areas of Education, Women Empowerment, Health as well as water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH).

He explained that education and women empowerment were key in actualising child development, which was one of the issues the Aspire project seeks to address.

According to him, what informed the introduction of the Aspire project was the successful implementation of over fifteen million Canadian dollar five-year project on Neonatal and Maternal Health as well as Menstrual Hygiene in Bauchi state.

He solicited the support of people of the benefiting states for the project to achieve the desired outcome.
