Bauchi State Government Launches CHIPS Programme

Bauchi State Government has launched a Community Health Influencers, Promoters and Services programme as well as flagged off the COVID-19 SCALES 3.0 strategy in the state.

Speaking at the flag off ceremony in Bauchi, Governor Bala Muhammed said the aim of the programme was to mobilise children for routine immunization and covid vaccination for adults as well as identify pregnant women to educate them on the need for antenatal care and hospital based delivery.

Represented by his Deputy, Senator Baba Tela, the Governor said the programme would educate, mobilise and offer counseling to people in the communities to take advantage of effective healthcare interventions.

According to him over one thousand people have been recruited and trained for the implementation of the CHIPS programme.

The Governor said that the programme was aimed at reducing child morbidity and maternal mortality through house to house mobilisation across community in the twenty Local Government Area of the state.

Bala Mohammed appreciated traditional rulers’ support and reaffirmed his administration commitment towards providing quality health care service to the people in the state.

Also speaking the Emir of Dass Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman reassured traditional rulers support towards sensitizing and mobilising their subjects on the importance and benefits of mass vaccination.
