Bauchi State Government to Construct Pilgrims Accommodation in Saudi Arabia.

Bauchi Government has expressed determination to secure approval from the Kindom of Saudi Arabia for the construction of pilgrims accomodation in the country to ease accommodation challenges being experienced during Hajj exercise.

The State Governor Bala Mohammed who stated this at the occasion of Commissioning of a New Hajj Transit Camp constructed by the state government, said the required resources would be mobilized for provision of similar project in the Holy Land.

Isiyaka Wunti reports that the New Hajj Transit Camp that houses adminstrative block, clinic, multipurpose hall, male and female hostel was named after the Sultan of Sokoko his eminent Alh. Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar .

Speaking at the occasion Governor Bala Mohammed said Bauchi has a large number of pilgrims in every Hajj exercise hence the need to provide a conducive  atmosphere in performing Hajj exercise.

Bala Mohammed who said the project was awarded at the sum of six hundred and fifty eight million naira noted that the facility would be made available during Christian pilgrimage.

Commissioning the Project, the Sultan of Sokoko Alh. Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar said the project is among the ongoing charity encouraged in Islam, called for mutual Collaboration between the state government and National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON to ensure proper utilization of the facility.

Sa’ad Abubakar also commended the Governor for ensuring inter-religious Harmony among different religion adherents in the state.

The Chairman, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON Alhaji Zikirullah Olakunle Hassan who was  represented by the Commissioner operation in the Commission Alh. Magaji Hardawa said the move would complement the ongoing effort aimed at repositioning the Hajj operation.

High point of the occasion was Goodwill messages by prominent Islamic and Christian scholars, preaching and recitation of the holy Qur’an.
