Bauchi State government to employ additional teachers to bridge students teacher ratio.

Bauchi State government has restated its resolve to employ more teachers to close the gap in students teacher ratio in the state.

The Senior Special Assistant to Bauchi State Governor on Education Zakari Inuwa Labaran gave the indication shortly after inspecting the 2019 2020 Federal Teacher’s Scheme FTS aptitude test in Bauchi.

Zakari Inuwa Labaran said government is worried with inadequate teachers in the education sector hence the need for the allocation of more slots towards the development of the sector in the state.

Earlier the Desk Officer FTS Bauchi Ahmed Danladi said out of the over twenty two thousand applicants, 400 were selected for the aptitude test and 100 will be employed after the exercise.

Ahmed Danladi disclosed that the exercise is conducted by JAMB where successful applicants would be trained in numeracy, basic sciences and languages and subsequently posted to rural areas to serve for two years.

Speaking with Radio Nigeria, some of the applicants Halima Shehu Aliyu and Muhammad Bashir Adamu all from Shira local government expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise and promised to work toward revamping the education sector if they get selected.

Successful applicants are expected to work for two years with thirty thousand naira monthly allowance where they are to be absolved in to the work force by the state government.
