Bauchi State government has been requested to rescind its decision to relocate the Faculty of Agriculture of the state owned university earlier sited in Jamaare.
Secretary General Jamaare Development Forum Saleh Ahmad malle who made the appeal during a special prayer for God intervention organized by Jamaare Emirate Council said the decision when actualized would cripple the socio economic and educational development of the area.
Saleh malle insisted that the emirate has all is required to host the faculty considering its arable and virgin land for agriculture, as well as ponds and rivers for practicals, farming and fishing activities.
He pointed out that already TETFund has constructed and equipped the faculty in 2014 and wondered why the decision to relocate it to another place.
The Secretary General of the Forum explained that instead of relocating the faculty it should be made to accommodate the newly established Federal College of Education Jamaare considering its land mass and facilities put in place.
Sale Malle therefore called on relevant stakeholders to rethink over the decision for the educational and agricultural development of the area.
On his part, a resident of the area Muhammad Yau insisted that establishment of the faculty in the area has brought education of higher learning to door steps of their children.
Also speaking the Chief Imam Jamaare Central Mosque Malam Hamisu said special prayers are being organized frequently to seek Allah’s intervention on issues that would hamper the development of the Emirate Council.
Some of the students spoken to, Munkaila Sulaimanu Adamu and Lubabatu Muhammad lamented that the planned relocation would not augur well as it may likely lead to their educational set back.
