Bauchi State Government has constructed new General Hospitals at four local government areas of Dambam, Alkaleri, Katagum, and Warji as part of it efforts to reposition the health sector.
Efforts have also reached advanced stage for the construction of eight more public health facilities as well as rehabilitation of twelve General Hospitals in other local government areas of the state.
The state Governor Bala Mohammed made this known at the inauguration of the newly constructed General Hospital in Dambam and Misau Local Government Areas.
Isiyaka Wunti reports that the Facilities were commissioned by the Chairman Board of Trustee of Peoples Democratic Party PDP Senator Walid Jibrin.
Governor Bala Mohammed said the move was to fill the existing gaps in provision of critical health infrastructure in both urban and rural areas.
According to him, over three hundred primary healthcare centres across the state have been renovated in collaboration with the Nigeria State Health Investment Project N-ship and other Development Partners
He reaffirmed the state government’s determination in prioritizing the health and other critical sectors through ensuring adequate budgetary provision towards effective service delivery.
Inaugurating the facilities, the Chairman Board of Trustee of PDP Senator Walid Jibrin applauded the Governor’s determination towards improving quality of live of his people noting that the gesture will go along way in keeping the party alive.
Also Speaking the State Commissioner of Health Dr. Sama’ila Dahuwa said the recent declaration of state of emergency on the sector by the Governor is yielding positive results.
He called on the benefiting communities to take full ownership of the facilities provided and report any attempt of misuse or vandalization to the relevant authorities for prompt action.
