Bauchi State Govt’t. Procures First Phase of 100 Trucks of Fertilizer for Farmers.

Bauchi State Government has procured one hundred trucks of fertilizer for onward distribution to Farmers at subsidized rate in this year’s farming season.
The state Governor Bala Mohammed who made this known during the official launching of the farming season and sales of fertilizer at Soro town in Ganjuwa local government said government has made adequate arrangement for encouraging farmers towards adequate crop production across the state.
Bala Mohammed who said government has introduced a number of programmes aimed at reviving the agricultural sector and ensuring food security noted that his administration has met all the obligations for accessing federal government agricultural interventions.
According to him ten percent of the state’s annual budget would be allocated to the sector noting that government has made a strong security arrengments to guarantee the safety of farmers in both urban and rural areas.
On the issue of the fertilizer distribution, Bala Mohammed warns that government would monitor the process to ensure the fertilizer are sold to only eligible farmers.
Speaking on behalf of the farmers, the state Chairman of All Farmers Association Barr. Haruna Yakubu represented by his Deputy Muhammed Yusuf while calling for judicious distribution of the fertilizer, enjoined government to sustain the provision of the farming inputs in view of the economic hardship being experienced.
High point of the event was supervision of the official sales of NPK fertilizer at the rate of nine thousand naira and Urea at eleven thousand naira respectively.
