Bauchi State Govt’t. Takes Measures To Deny Boko Haram Access to the State.

Bauchi State Government has taken stringent measures to prevent resettlement of members of Boko Haram insurgents migrating from Geidam local government area of Yobe state.
This followed the report of influx of Internally Displaced Persons IDPs from the trouble area to neighboring local government areas of Gamawa, Dambam, Darazo and Zaki in Bauchi state.
Addressing newsmen after an Emergency Security Council Meeting, the Secretary to the State Government Muhammad Sabi’u Baba said the state government would profiled any migrants against security threat.
Muhammad Sabi’u Baba who said the move was necessary considering the security implications of the issue, maintained that government would be proactive in handling the problem.
The S.S.G Called on the security agencies to intensify operation in the axis adding that Government would take inventory of the IDPs with a view to provide them with relief materials.
The state Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alabi who disclosed that five suspects were arrested in connection to vandalization of MTN facilities in Gamawa local government area noting that the move was part of strategies of the insurgents.
The Commissioner assured that, the police would work with other security agencies to ensure security is guaranteed across the state state.
It could be recalled that there were spate of attacks by Boko Haram insurgents which displaced Communities in Geidam local government area of Yobe bordering some local Governments in Bauchi state.
