Bauchi State twenty twenty two appropriation bill of over one hundred ninety five billion naira has scaled second reading at the state house of Assembly.
The development followed a motion moved by the majority leader Tijjani Aliyu Madangala shortly after the state Governor Senator Bala Muhammad presented the appropriation bill at the floor of the house.
The sitting presided over by the speaker Abubakar Suleiman assured speedy passage of the budget as well as the continuous cordial relationship that exist between the legislative and the executive arms.
Abubakar Suleiman said the budget would improve the leaving standard of people considering the key marked priority areas to include health, education, agriculture, youth and women empowerment among others.
The speaker urged Government to direct all Ministries, Departments and Agencies for defence of their budgets before the relevant house committees in order to ensure smooth passage of the fiscal estimates.
The house referred the proposed budget to it’s Committee on appropriation for further legislative duties as well as adjourned it sittings to next week Tuesday.
Meanwhile the chairman house Committee on appropriation Abdulkadir Umar Dewu has expressed his satisfaction with the presentation of the budget saying that it would enable the Committee to work on time and allowed the budget to passed before the end of this year.
On his part, Special Adviser to the state governor on legislative matters Sani Mohammad Burra said the budget tagged budget of consolidation and continuous commitment also focuses completion of ongoing and new projects across the state.
