Christian have been advised to always remain steadfast and prayerful even in the face of difficulties and hardships in order to appreciate what God Almighty have been doing in their lives.
The Vicar, Lutheran church of Christ in Nigeria, LCCN Yola cathedral , Reverend Babangida joseph gave the advice during the 2021 harvest thanksgiving and Sunday services held at the church premises in Yola.
Reading from the book of first thesalonial chapter five verse sixteen to eighteen, Reverend Babangida
Joseph said it is good to be thankful to God at all times irrespective of the challenges facing the people.
He called on Christian faithfuls to always put God first as He will never abandon them, but will always
see them through no matter the trying times.
According to the Vicar, the day is set aside to celebrate what God has done in the lives of the people in the preceding harvest year.
Reverend Babangida Joseph said the country is faced with multiple challenges hence the need to intensify prayers and be thankful to God Almighty at all times.
Speaking during the service, the chairman of the thanksgiving committee, Mr. Attah Mustafa described
the day as a day to be thankful to God Almighty for his mercies and preservation of mankind in good
health and prosperity through the preceding harvest year.
He described this year celebration as being successful despite the challenges farmers encountered during the season.
He therefore called on the people to always be appreciative in what God has been doing in their lives.
Highlights of this year event included songs of praises, Bazaar amongst others.
