Borno state House of Assembly has unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of state Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum.
At an emergency session presided over by the Speaker, Honourable Abdulkarim Lawan this morning, the House dissociated itself from the purported plot by the Assembly to impeach the Governor.
In a motion of urgent public importance, the members described the allegations as baseless and a handy work of some mischief makers for their own selfish political interest.
The members of the Assembly explained that their relationship with the Executive arm is very cordial, calling on the security agencies to take decisive action on the mischiefmakers.
Some social media platforms have this week reported alleged attempt by the State Assembly to impeach the Governor, which led to the intervention of a former Governor to douse the matter.
The House then adjourned its sitting to Thursday 1st of April.
