Desertification: NGO Plants Three Thousand Trees In Bauchi

A Non-Governmental Organization and Natural Heritage Conservation have plat three thousand trees in Gamawa Local Government Area of Bauchi state to address desertification in the area.


Chairman of the organization Aliyu Busa Musa Said planting of trees in Gamawa and neighboring local Government became Paramount considering the effects of desertification and erosion in the state.

Aliyu Busa Musa called relevant stakeholders to help in that direction as NGO has already planned about one hundred thousand trees across the State and is targeting one million its

t’s short-term.

Also speaking the coordinator of National Environmental Standard Regulation and Enforcement Agency NASREA Bauchi state Yahaya Adamu warned against falling down of trees indiscriminately saying anybody found wanting would face the full wrath of the law.

Yahaya Adamu also said the agency was established to address the problems of deforestation and other related offences
Also speaking the district head of Gamawa Adamu Dahuwa commended the organization for the gesture and urged them to maintain the temporary.

The occasion which has in attendance traditional rulers, politicians within and outside Gamawa local government area witness planting the trees by the chief of staff Government house Aminu Gamawa, district heads Gamawa among others
