Ensure Adequate budgetary provisions for the welfare of corps members – DG NYSC charges Corps Employers.

The Director General of the National youth service corps Brigedia General Shuaibu Ibrahim has call on Corps Employers to make adequate budgetary provisions for the welfare of Corps members.

The Director General made the plea during the 2021 Corps Employers Workshop Held in Kano.

Brigedia General Shuaibu Ibrahim who was Represented by a Deputy Director in the Agency Mr Ibodu Ugada said the Corps Employers Workshop was targeted at Enlightening Corps Employers the Needed Training on How to Handle issues of Corps Members .

He said in the Course of Primary Assignment Corps Employers were Expected to make Statutory walfare Provisions for the Corps Members .

Brigedia General Shuaibu Ibrahim Explained that some of the walfare Provisions expected from the Corps Employers include Transportation from Camp ,Accommodation with Modest Furnishing , Medical Service and local Allowances ,with aim of Motivating the Corps Members to Achieved the Stated Goals .

The Director General Adviced Corps Employers to always ensure that they issued Monthly clearance latter to corps members who have worked and entitled to be paid Federal Allowance .

“Let me warn Corps Employers that the Scheme will appropriate sanctions against those found to be aiding and abetting absenteeism and abscondment of Corps Members from Service”

Brigedia General Shuaibu Ibrahim Noted that with regards to the Scarcity of white Collar Jobs the Scheme was putting much emphasis on the Empowerment of Corps Members for self relient,Self Employment and Wealth Creation .

He added that the NYSC management places high premium on the security of lives and property of Corps Members throughout the service Year.

Earlier the NYSC coordinator in Kano Hajiya Aisha Tata Mohammad Said the sensitization workshop was Geared at Acquainting them with the expectations of NYSC on Corps Members.

The Workshop Theme” Optimizing the NYSC and Corps Employers Partnership for National Development in the Context of the New Normal ” was attended by various Corps Employers and other stakeholders.
