FG. Calls On Bauchi Youth to Key into Intervention Programmes.

The Minister of state, Ministry of Trade and Investment Ambassador Maryam Yalwaji Katagum has called on youth and women groups to take full advantage of various federal government empowerment programmes aimed at engaging them in useful ventures.

She made the call in Bauchi during a Town Hall meeting on security issue, organized to engage Youth and critical stakeholders with a view to addressing security challenges bedeviling the country

Ambassador Maryam Katagum who expressed concern with the involvement of youth in the recent #Endsars violent protests encouraged them to key into the federal government intervention programmes to avoid being used by unpatriotic members of the society.

According to her, the administration of president Muhammadu Buhari has prioritized on the welfare of youth, women and vulnerables through in formulation and implementation of policies and programmes.

The minister noted that Bauchi state is among the beneficiaries of the first stream of thirty thousand naira one time grant to three hundred and thirty three thousand artisans across the country in addition to various supports in the development of small and medium scale businesses.

On his part the minister of Education Malam Adamu Adamu who said the federal government has provided three new additional higher institutions in Bauchi state, called for the Youth enrolment for the betterment of their future.

The state Governor Bala Muhammad who commended the prompt action by president Muhammadu Buhari in addressing security challenges assured the state government readiness to complement his efforts in that direction.

Some of the participants at the Town Hall meeting, appreciated the government’s concern in addressing the plights of the citizens, called for the sustainance of the effort.

The event has in attendance Youth and Women Groups, Civil Society Organizations, Security Agents, Traditional and Religious leaders among others.
