The federal government has reaffirmed its commitment to addressing Ecological Challenges in the country.
The Permanent Secretary Ecological Project Office, Dr. Habiba Lawal stated this during the handing over, and sensitization ceremony on the flood and erosion control project at Gafasa Village, Ajingi local government Area of Kano state.
Dr. Habiba Lawal represented by the Director of Public Relations Ecological project office Mr. Joel Oruche said the administration of President Muhammad Buhari was working tirelessly to ensure that Ecological challenges were being addressed nationwide.
He said the meeting aimed to build bridges of understanding between the Ecological project office, contractors, and benefitting Communities to ensure that the project was completed within the stipulated time.
” We Are here in Gafasa to solicit for support and cooperation of the benefitting community to cooperate with the contractor and the consultant so that they will deliver on time, the rain will start falling very soon, so we don’t want the project to be delayed “.
In a remark, the chairman of Ajingi local government Alhaji Murtala Uba Danbaiye represented by his deputy Alhaji said Jibrin Toranke applauded the federal government’s efforts for taking bold in addressing ecological Challenges.
“We appreciate the federal government’s commitment to addressing ecological challenges bedeviling the development of our community”
Earlier the contractor of the project Mr. Simon Adeyinka Assured that the project would be completed within the stipulated time.
The ceremony was attended by the ple of the aging community and other stakeholders.
