FG Screens Retired Immigration Officers ,Civil Servants for Settlement

The Federal Government has reaffirmed its determination in ensuring adequate payment of retirees benefits and entitlement with the aim of reciprocating their selfless services to the Nation.

The Director General of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) Alhaji Dasuki Ibrahim Arabi Disclosed this during the verification exercise of Retired Immigration Officers of the North West Zone Held in Kano.

He said in an efforts towards ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in the Nigerian public service, the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) has organized a verification exercise for severed officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and other federal MDAs/parastatals in the Northwest Zone.

“This exercise is scheduled to take place in Kano from the 29th of January to the 2nd of February, 2024.”

“The aim of this verification exercise is to ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping of severed officers in order to streamline the workforce and improve service delivery in the public sector. It is crucial that we have an up-to-date database of officers to facilitate decision-making processes and allocation of resources.”

Alhaji Dasuki Ibrahim Arabi noted that the Northwest Zone has been selected as the location for the exercise due to its strategic importance in terms of population and economic activities.

” Kano, being a major commercial center in the zone, provides the necessary infrastructure and logistical support required for the smooth conduct of this exercise.”

The DG Maintained that During the exercise, severed officers from the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and other federal MDAs/parastatals within the Northwest Zone will be required to present themselves for verification.

” This will include the submission of relevant documents such as appointment letters, promotion letters, and other forms of identification. “

in their separate remarks the comptroller of immigration Kano Command Ahmad Bagari and the National President of the Retired Immigration Officers Association Badamasi Nurudden applauded the efforts of the federal government for conducting the screening ,aimed at ensuring the retirement benefits.
