Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has raised alarm for the non existence of the Federal Government’s Social Investment Programme in the state.

He also complained of inability of the state to get the required treatment in the distribution of Covid-19 assistance.

The Governor made the observations at the flagging off of the State Government’s Economic Empowerment Programme in Dambam local government area of the state.

Governor Bala Mohammed stated that while, President Muhammadu Buhari led administration introduced the programme with good intention, some critical stakeholders in the implementation process are denying the state it’s privilege to benefit from the initiative.

While calling on the President to set a high powered committee for an independent investigation into the matter, Bala Mohammed argued that such people oriented programmes are public right that should not be politicized.

Speaking on the economic empowerment programme, the Governor said each of the twenty local governments would benefit with seventy five million naira in an effort to create job opportunities for people from the grassroot.

Also Speaking, the former Senate Deputy Majority Leader Senator Abdul Ningi who commended the Governor for his political will in service the state maintained that fair treatment of citizens will reduce security challenges in the country.

He called on the beneficiaries to use the items provided them in a matter that will make them self-reliants

Our correspondent Reports that so far, ten out of the twenty local government areas have benefited from the initiative.
