FG Vows to Inculcate Entrepreneur Skills in pupils and Students of primary and Secondary Schools – DG SMEDAN.

The federal government has reaffirmed it’s determination in building the Capacity of primary and Secondary school teachers in entrepreneurship development with the aim of inculcating the passion to pupils and student geared towards making them self Relient.
The Director General of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) Dr. Umaru Dikko Radda Stated this during the opening ceremony of two day Capacity Building for Entrepreneurship Teachers under the Mind Shift programme,held in Kano.
Dr Umaru Dikko Radda explained that the Mind Shift programme was aimed at Building the Capacity of primary and secondary school teachers with the requisite knowledge they need to trained pupils and students different Entrepreneur Skills so that they would become self relient.
He attributed the high increase of Crimes in the Society to lack of unemployment among youths ,which was as a result of lack of preparedness among the youths to start their own businesses.
“Through this Scheme Children are expected to unleashed their innate wealth creating potentials by exploring the vast opportunities that abound in their respective Communities”.
Dikko Umar Radda added that the states that will benefit from the scheme this year includes ,Kano,Zamfara,Plateau,Niger,Taraba,Gombe,Oyo,osun ,Enugu,Abia ,Rivers and Bayelsa States.
In a remark Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, represented by the Commissioner for Education Alhaji Mohammad Sanusi Kiru Aplauded the foresight and Commitment of the federal Government for initiating the Scheme
He noted that Kano State Government was focusing much Attention in creating job opportunities through Entrepreneurship,saying a modern Skills acquisition center has been established in Kano where thousands of youths would be trained on different Entrepreneur Skills aimed at Making them to become Self relient.
Alhaji Mohammad Sanusi Kiru Directed all principals and Head teacher of public primary and secondary Schools In the state to established Entrepreneur Clubs in their Schools aimed at Achieving the Stated Goals .
He urged them to Step Down the training to other teaches in their respective schools geared towards that the Program Achieved maximum Success.
Hundred primary and secondary teachers from each of the twelve selected would Trained under the programme.
