FINANCIAL AUTONOMY: CONFERENCE OF SPEAKERS, GOVERNORS FORUM MET TO END PASAN STRIKE.

The Chairman of Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria Abubakar Suleiman and his Nigeria Governors Forum counterpart Fayemi Kayode have led a meeting to end nationwide indefinite strike embarked by the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria PASAN.
Speaking after the meeting which took place in Ado Ekiti, the Chairman of the Conference said the development was part of an effort towards resolving the issue of financial autonomy to the state legislature and judiciary.
Abubakar Sulaiman expressed confidence that meeting Governor Fayemi Kayode would go a long way to come up with measures to end the strike and get the staff back to their work.
The chairman of the conference who is also the speaker Bauchi State House of Assembly explained that measures to further strengthen the relationship between the states Executive and Legislative arms through organizing annual or biannual conference were also discussed.
He assured that further engagements will continue in Abuja this week to finally resolve the matter.
