The North-East Zonal Director of the Federal Radio Cooperation of Nigeria (FRCN), Malam Babayo Askira has expressed satisfaction with the level of work on FRCN Gift FM Jalingo in Taraba State.
Askira disclosed this during his first visit to the FM station in the Taraba state capital since his assumption of office in December 2021.
As it is well known by Nigerians, the Federal Radio Cooperation of Nigeria (FRCN) was established with the mandate to uplift the people and unite the nation.

The vision of the station is also to be an impartial, credible, creative, and digitalized medium at the forefront of the nation’s national development, unity, and progress, while its mission is to provide impartial radio content for millions of Nigerian radio listeners.
FRCN so far has functional FM stations in most states of the Federation with Taraba being one of only two remaining states where an FRCN station is yet to hit the airwaves.
Given this, the FRCN North-East Zonal Director, Malam Babayo Askira assured the people of Taraba State that Gift FM Jalingo would not deviate from the vision and mission of Africa’s largest radio network by ensuring objectivity and balanced contents.
The Zonal Director commended the zeal of the FRCN management under the current Director-General Dr. Mansur Liman for taking steps to ensure the full take-off of Gift FM Jalingo which, at the moment, is the only FRCN FM station that is not operational in the northeast.
The General Manager of FRCN Fombina FM Yola, Adamawa state, Dahiru Garba, who accompanied the zonal Director described the visit as historic and urged Tarabians to embrace the station as it is for all Nigerians.
Our Correspondent, Sani Suleiman reports that during the visit, the zonal director, Mal. Babayo Askira and his entourage inspected all the equipment installed and went round the premises where he took notes of a few remaining things that the station will require for a smooth take-off.
