FRCN:ZD Northeast Meets Community Close To Sunshine FM On Land Encroachment

As part of efforts to find a lasting solution to the land encroachment on Radio Nigeria, Sunshine FM Potiskum, the Zonal Director, North East of the Corporation, Malam Babayo Askira has engaged the host community on the challenge.
Malam Askira said the corporation is liaising with relevant stakeholders in the state to find an amicable resolution to the matter.
“The corporation is making efforts to ensure that the land encroachment across the zone have been taken care of”
He, therefore, called on the public to desist from the purchase of land that has no government approval, especially within the general area demarcated for Sunshine FM Potiskum.
The zonal town planning officer of Yobe State Geographical Information System, YOGIS, Mr Kolo Abba Sidi, said the agency is taking proactive measures to check the menace of land encroachment in the state.
He emphasized the need for traditional rulers to always contact the State Ministry of Land or Local Government authorities before allocating any piece of land.
Also speaking, the head of Engineering FRCN, Northeast zone, Malam Bassariyu Danbaba, warned people against building close to the mast to avoid unpleasant consequences.
