Gombe First Lady Urges the Wealthy to Engage in Charity for More Blessings in the Holy Month of Ramadan

The wife of Gombe State governor, Dr. Asma’u Inuwa Yahaya has congratulated the Muslim ummah, for witnessing another Ramadan season that ushers a lot of good things that unite mankind and bring them closer to their creator.

In a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on media and publicity,
Office of the First Lady,
Bintu Aliyu Sunmonu,
the governor’s wife reminded Muslims that, the sacred month of Ramadan goes beyond fasting, cooking, and eating one’s favorite dishes, to spiritual rejuvenation which through religious devotions and selfless service to humanity, earns Allah’s bountiful blessings.

Dr. Asma’u Inuwa said the Muslim faithful should show kindness to the people around them, and feed the needy and orphans so that they may stand side by side with prophet Muhammad peace and blessings of Allah be upon Him.

The First Lady also stressed that women should use their positions as daughters, wives, and mothers who bear the brunt of insecurity, gender violence, and economic meltdown, to seriously pray in this holy month for the almighty’s forgiveness and divine intervention so that peace, unity, and justice shall reign in our dear nation.
