Gombe State Executive Council Approves N2.8 Billion for Road Construction In Funakaye LGA.

Gombe State Executive Council has approved the sum of two point eight billion naira, for the construction of three span bridges and roads projects in Kwanan-Dogaji, Jagabari, Kuka-Bakwai, and Almakashi roads in Funakaye local government area of the state.

The State Commissioner of Information and Culture, Mr. Julius Ishaya Lepez, stated this while briefing newsmen shortly after the State Executive Council Meeting, presided over by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, held at the Council Chamber of the Government House Gombe.

Mr. Julius Ishaya Lepez, explained that, the contract is a jointly funded project, where the State government would provide sixty percent of the cost of the project while Funakaye local government would provide the remaining fourty percent to fund the project.

According to him, the contract was initially awarded to sink three culvet but after investigation it was discovered that, the culvert will not serve the purpose, hence the need to construct three span bridges and therefore the council deliberated on it and gave the approval for the additional project.

The Commissioner also informed that, the council considered the draft proposal of the budget estimate, for Twenty-Twenty-Two fiscal year which would be presented to the State House of Assembly by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa, on Thursday.
