GOMBE STATE GOVERNOR PRESENTS OVER 154 BILLION NAIRA AS 2022 PROPOSED BUDGET ESTIMATE.

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has presented the sum of One hundred and fifty-fifty, point five Billion naira, appropriation bill to the State House of Assembly for the 2022 fiscal year.

Presenting the budget tagged, Budget of Consolidation, the governor said the budget estimate is intended to consolidate on the gains made over the past two and half years in the service of the people.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya, explained that, the budget is made up of sixty-nine point one Billion naira, for recurrent expenditure, representing fourty-four point seven percent of the total budget and eighty-five point four Billion naira for capital expenditure which represents fifty-five percent of the budget sum.

According to him, the 2022 budget, is envisaged to be financed by an estimated recurrent revenue of Seventy-Three point Six Billion naira and Capital receipts of Seventy-nine point eight Billion naira.

Governor Yahaya, revealed that, as Gombe State is ranked number one in the country, in the ease of doing business, by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council, in this regard, the sum of ten point nine Billion naira was earmarked for investment in this sector in order to boost and deepen business activities in the state.

The governor also noted that, his administration has placed more emphasis on works and infrastructural development and as such the sum of twenty point nine Billion naira has been earmarked for this sub-sector to tackle the dilapidation infrastructure stock and completion of abandoned projects.

In his speech, the Speaker, Gombe State House of Assembly, Muhammad Abubakar Luggerewo, assured speedy passage of the budget within the stipulated period.
